There are a lot of references in these titles, but it's hard to know the intended meaning without actually listening to the songs...so let's all wait and see, shall we.
As an added bonus, "Queen of the Night" will be featured as the new ending theme for the Shiki anime. A wise choise, considering that the current ending theme, while a pleasing song in its own right, has approximately nothing to do with the content of the series.
Oh, and the album artwork has been released. It should excite you, if miniature pixelated icons turn you on.
for some reason queen of the night just makes me think of Whitney Houston. O_O
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tracklist translation! <3 These look awesome. O_O
How'd you get all this? Great news. The titles are kinda weird. I still expect a album with alot of disco / dance-like / pop hits.
ReplyDeleteBut where is the artwork?
The Queen of the Night is one of the main characters in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, famous for having to sing one of the highest and most difficult soprano arias known to man.
ReplyDeleteThe album artwork is on the band's official website.
Im kinda puzzled, the last single Kuchizuke offered straight Goth songs, which leads to the conclusion that there is a certain chance that this album is Goth, but when you take a look at the titles of each individual song from Razzle Dazzle, it would not make alot of sense. Cayce, what do you think?
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to write a post about goth music as it relates to B-T, but I haven't had time yet. Goth is much less about wearing black clothes and much more about an international underground culture, a rich body of artistic work of various genres, and most importantly (in my opinion) a worldview.
ReplyDeleteMany if not most of Buck-Tick's original influences, especially Bauhaus and The Cure, were part of the first-wave goth movement, and the B-T album that comes closest to the original goth sound is definitely Kurutta Taiyou, not 13kai wa Gekkou.
I would also say, you can't judge a song by its title. More later.
