Imai Hisashi on Blogging

Now that we've heard the opinions of the other band members, let's hear about blogging from the man himself! Why did Imai decide to start a blog, and is he enjoying the blogging experience? Of course the Fish Tank staff had to ask him.

FT: You were saying you wanted to for a while, but then you finally started a blog. How have your friends reacted to it?

Imai: Oh, it's been good, the people who have been reading it seem to like it. You know, like Yoko-chan. And Kanemitsu, who does our interviews a lot. So, I wrote about the Hall Tour on my blog, and then after that I met Kanemitsu for an interview but since I'd already written all that stuff on the blog, it was like "well, there's no point in asking about it again, is there?"

FT: Hahaha!

Imai: Yeah! Lately while I'm getting interviewed I just keep thinking "I've already said all this stuff on my blog..." So, pretty much, yeah.

FT: This is the first time we've heard you speak for yourself directly, isn't it?

Imai: Yeah, it is.

FT: Well, this is true of the Fish Tank Newsletter too of course, but before you were always being interviewed and then it was getting printed in a magazine or posted on the web so it took time for us to be able to read your words...

Imai: Yeah. That's why I decided I wanted to do a blog. But when I say blog...I mean, I'm not doing something like a diary, where I have to write every day...sometimes I'll post stories of stuff that happened years and years ago. When I realized it was a type of media that would let me do exactly what I wanted I decided I had to try it out, so that's why I started. I mean that's still how I feel about it but then when I got interviewed about the tour I thought, "wait a sec..."

FT: Yeah.

Imai: But on a blog, when the live is over and I think "I should say something about this," I can say it right away, so it's really convenient. Really, that's the biggest thing. I could just wait faithfully for months for an interview and not voice all my opinions, but these days, all the fans are all writing blogs like crazy.

FT: But before you said that you weren't writing your blog as a drinking diary or anything.

Imai: Yeah.

FT: Well isn't that a little contrived? Are you just writing whatever you feel like writing even if it's not a drinking diary?

Imai: Yeah, yeah, exactly. I just write whatever I feel like, and I mean, sometimes I take time with it, but basically I try not to worry too much about it and just write whatever I want to at the time.

FT: So, have you heard from any of the band members about it?

Imai: No...wait, Yuta said he bookmarked it!

FT: That's wonderful! Also you know Hide said he bookmarked it, too. When I interviewed him yesterday he said he was reading it.

Imai: Wait, I wrote something on there about Hide, didn't I? Damn, what was it...?

FT: ....Uh, I think it was that when you were checking your schedule before going to see Hotei's concert, Hide said, "that's my birthday, so of course I'm off that day..."

Imai: Yeah, yeah, that was it, that was it!!

FT: So I think Hide probably read that.

Imai: Hyahyahyahya~~

Yagami Toll on Blogging

FT: Lately Mr. Imai started a blog. Have you looked at it?

Yagami: Yeah, I saw it. Of course, Imai's not writing anything private on there...hahaha! Blogs are usually for writing about your daily life but Imai's definitely not going to post stuff like that.

FT: Well, that's as it should be. Have you said anything to Imai?

Yagami: No.

FT: Have you bookmarked it?

Yagami: Yeah, on my computer, not on my phone.

Higuchi Yutaka on Blogging

So what does Yutaka think about blogging, anyway?

FT: A little while ago, Imai started a blog.

Higuchi: Yeah, he did~

FT: Imai said you'd bookmarked it, U-ta.

Higuchi: Yeah, I bookmarked it! I'm reading it!

FT: So, what do you think? I mean, about the band members blogging.

Higuchi: It's pretty cool, isn't it? I've been thinking to myself that I kind of want to start one too, but I'm a child so I think I'd get bored with it...I mean, I wouldn't get bored, but I think I'd forget to update. But I wouldn't want anyone to think, "What, has he died or something?!" Because I already have a bad record! Hahaha...I always do stuff like that.

Hoshino Hidehiko on Blogging

Remember, Sakurai's not the only member of the band! Now let's hear Hoshion's opinions of Imai's blog.

FT: Recently the other guitarist started a blog. Did you hear about that?

Hoshino: Yes, I did.

FT: Have you looked at it?

Hoshino: Yes, I have.

FT: So how is Imai's blog anyway?

Hoshino: Well, he's being pretty serious about writing it, so, yeah, I'd say it's pretty good. It's not like he's posting when he's drunk or anything. I thought that would be good, though.

FT: Did you tell that to Imai?

Hoshino: Nope, I didn't say anything.

FT: We think that it would be nice if it weren't just Imai's blog...

Hoshino: Wait, are you telling me to start a blog too?

FT: No, we were just wondering if you were interested at all....?

Hoshino: Who me? No way.

Sakurai Atsushi on Blogging

Ever since Mr. Imai started his blog back in June, many of you have been wondering--what do the other band members think about blogging? Would they ever start their own blogs? You're not the only ones who wondered. In the latest issue of FT, the Fish Tank staff made sure to ask the band members about their opinions on blogging, and how they felt about Imai's blog specifically. Let's see what Mr. Sakurai had to say.

FT: Mr. Imai has started a blog. Have you looked at it?

Sakurai: No...

FT: Why not!?

Sakurai: I haven't looked at it! Am I supposed to have looked at it~?

FT: Well aren't you curious?

Sakurai: Not at all! Ah ha ha ha! But, I still don't really get it. A blog is a sort of diary-thing, right?

FT: Yeah, sort of like that.

Sakurai: Then it would be sketchy of me to read Imai's diary without him knowing♥

FT: But, since he's a Buck-Tick member, he's writing about Buck-Tick.

Sakurai: Then why are other Buck-Tick members supposed to read it! (Laughs hysterically) Why should I bother? There's no reason. People should only read it if they're interested. If it's a diary about Buck-Tick being written by a Buck-Tick member, then I already know it all, right? If I feel like it, I'll read it. But I'm sure the fans are all excited that he's started a blog.

FT: So you don't want to start a blog yourself?

Sakurai: No, not at all. And I don't know how anyway. It sounds like a pain in the ass.

Here is New Sensation!

Hello, and welcome to the Blog-Tick Phenomenon, the brand-new official blog of This is NOT Greatest Site! It seems that the esteemed Mr. Imai Hisashi has played the role of the white rabbit, sucking us down into the Wonder Blogsophere. After considering for several months, we, or rather I, decided it was time to do the 'I blog you'. And as you can imagine, this is NOT "just one more blog." This will literally be not the greatest blog. Ever.

So why have jumped on the blog band-wagon? (Or should I say, the band blog-wagon?) The sad truth is, Kame and are I busy people, and fun work doesn't pay. We try to keep Not Greatest Site in the style of a (ruthlessly mocked) formal magazine, but that takes time. While Kame's working on piles of new Not Greatest Code and has no time for regular updates (apparently she's also been gothic bellydancing to "Romance" and lost track of time) I decided to create a place where I could quickly and easily keep you all entertained with some Buck-Tick related goodies in an informal fashion.

Recent comments by the band members, interesting bits of news, personal messages from Toll's bodyguard's roadie's girlfriend...they all might show up here. If you have any suggestions or requests, just drop me a line. Oh, yeah. And I recall Mr. Imai Hisashi's blog wasn't originally written in English...but now it just might be ready to....
