Parade Day 2

For those of you who hadn't noticed yet: the second installment of my report on Buck-Tick's 2012 On Parade Festival is now up over at Not Greatest Site.

And not only that, you can even watch a video from Day 2!  Until the YouTube police take it down, I give you the enhanced six-member D'Erlanger performing their wild and crazy cover of "Iconoclasm."  You can't hear Die's guitar very well here but you can hear Miyako's retro organ much better than it could be heard live through all that rain.  Listen for the nod to "Kiss Me Good-Bye" at the end...that was another thing the rain just about rained out.  At the Night Side is for wimps.  THIS was what I call RAIN.

Parade Festival Live Report

My live report of Day One of the Parade Festival is up over at Not Greatest Site, so go check it out!  Feel free to post comments here, as it seems that the Googlesites commenting module doesn't actually work.  Either that or I'm just not tech-savvy enough to have set it up correctly.  But...fuck that.  Technology is a sad, second-rate substitute for talent!  In any case, sorry this was so long in coming.  Day Two will be up soon, with Yumemiru Uchuu live reports to follow eventually.  I know you all think I must be some sort of text-generating machine, but the fact is, writing 20 page articles is a lot of work, and sometimes I get tired.

Buck-Tick Live Info

Just like last year, Buck-Tick will be performing at Countdown Japan at Makuhari Messe on Friday, December 28th.  For those of you who are Buck-Tick fans and also fans of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, this may be your first opportunity to see both bands perform at the same venue!  Perfume, Merry, and N'shukugawa Boys will also be performing, in addition to a lot of other artists.  Single-day tickets are available for a mere 10000 yen.

Come 2013, Buck-Tick will also be embarking on a standing tour "Tour 2013 Cosmic Dreamer" including both general admission and fanclub-only shows.  This time they'll be going to some pretty exotic and remote locales, including Oita Prefecture, Tottori prefecture (incidentally, the only prefecture Sakurai screwed up the kanji for in Buck-Tick's geography test!) and Okinawa prefecture.  Tottori prefecture is home to the most beautiful sunsets in Japan and Japan's reputedly most overrated tourist attraction (the Tottori Sand Dunes), the real attraction are the scenic and politically controversial nuclear power plants.  Okinawa, on the other hand, has no nuke plants at all.  But it has a US military base, so things all even out, I suppose.  Okinawa is also famous for warty green bitter melons, a variety of delicacies made from pigs' ear, pineapple wine, having its own language, and the highest life expectancy on earth.

For those of you who think I'm being insensitive and reductive, really, actually, Tottori and Okinawa are both fantastically awesome places to visit, I say that in all seriousness.  Buck-Tick never goes to Tottori so all five fans in the prefecture have probably just gotten started on freaking out.  I bet they'll see a lot of fans from up and down the Sea of Japan coast (there's nothing there but the nature is gorgeous and the seafood is delicious.)

If you have questions about tickets you would like to ask me, please email me directly.
