寿記 13.11.15 Fine, a Supplement!

.

Today, there was a meeting

And afterward, when we'd all said goodbye and I was preparing to go home,

One of our staff members stopped me.

.

Staff Member: "...some fans who have been reading your blog have sent inquiries..."

Me: "...inquiries?"

Staff Member: "Yes...um...about your last post...things like 'who is the person next to you,' 'is it your wife?' 'I'm shocked!' ...we've gotten a lot along those lines."

Me: "Whaaaaaaat~~!? What do they even mean?"

Staff Member: "What shall we do?"

Me: "What do you mean what should we do. There's nothing to be done. We'll just tell them who it is. I'll say it on my blog."

Staff Member: "Roger."

Me: "God, I really can't believe this. This is insane. There is no way in hell that is my wife....honestly!"

This is pretty much how I felt as the staff member reported to me on all the various comments which had come in.

.

Why is why I'm going to tell you straaaaaaaaaaight.

It's Fujii Maki, with whom I am currently working on the Schaft project.

Schaft had a video shoot~.

For a PV, and other stuff~.

And we took the photo as a joke during the shoot~.

.

Ah, this is a pain in my ass.

.

.

By the way, the PV is gonna be awesome!!

IMAI 23:53

Cayce, to Imai: I couldn't love you more if I tried.

And to the rest of y'all fangirls: please. For the love of fuck. Kindly stop being so incredibly fucking stupid, all the goddamn time. I'm feeling dangerously close to the verge of literally not being able to even, and it's all your fault.

Check out the picture here.

  1. Well DUH.

Obviously it's not his wifey, because it's not a picture of Mr Sakurai :P

  2. I cracked up when I read that post a few days ago, and also I was half-hoping you would translate it here so that a. I would know whether I'd understood it correctly and b. the NGS readership at large would know about it. (Looks like I got it pretty spot-on when I translated it for my sister. Encouraging!)

My love for Imai is also undying.

  3. Oh goodness, I heard some of that but I thought it was a joke!

    1. Welcome to The Internet, where there are no jokes.

  4. Whoa. I thought it was pretty obvious that it was Fujii Maki. o.o

  5. I actually first saw the photo in my Facebook feed and got totally confused. FM looks EXACTLY like my niece-in-law in that pic. I wondered who SHE was in bed with, haha, with then realized I was viewing an Imai fan page. So I can see why peeps were confused. FM does look like a fucking woman there! "So what, so what, so what, so what?" But I feel like I'm missing something here. I don't get why all the outrage? And no offence Cayce, but why are you personally so incensed? Was it mostly international fans asking that question or something...?? Is it bc Japanese people are very private and Westerners so stupidly open? I am truly asking to be educated here, not to be confrontational. I am thinking in the West we'd all laugh at the mis-take if we saw, say, Keanu Reeves in bed with Steven Tyler (god forbid!) and and thought it was his ill and aged wife or something (nomesayin?). But I would like to understand it more. I get that Imai would not ever put a pic of his wife on his blog, but why does the confusion anger him (and you) so much? Peace.

    1. If it were just the one incident in isolation, it would definitely be funny rather than annoying. But taken together with all the many thousands of other incidents of fangirls being idiots, it starts to get annoying as well.

I think the crux of the issue is really that these fangirls are so fussed to know who Imai is in bed with but couldn't be bothered to figure out that right now he's doing a band with Maki Fujii. They claim that they care so much about Imai. They're even willing to go so far as to spam the band's manager out of their jealous curiosity. But they don't even care enough about the music to have done their homework on the band. Fujii Maki has been around for a while. There are photos of him around. It should be very easy for a genuine fan to find out that it was him in the photo without doing too much work. But for these girls, it's not about that at all - it's about continuing their possessive idol worship, and nothing else.

So why am I pissed? Because these are the same people who are standing in the front section at The Mortal's gigs without enjoying themselves at all, because they don't know jack poop about the music, they just want to look at Acchan-sama. These are the people who violently attacked the very few people in the front at The Mortal's gigs who *were* dancing, because the dancing was getting in the way of their ability to stare at Acchan-sama while not enjoying his music. These are the people who turned around and told said dancing fans to (and this is true) stop cheering for The Mortal because "this is a rock concert and you should be quiet and listen to the music."

I have no doubt we'll see this behavior at Schaft, too. I'm not looking forward to it. If you're not here for the music, why the fuck are you here?

    2. "This is a rock concert and you should be quiet and listen to the music." Ok, this killed me.

    3. > "this is a rock concert and you should be quiet and listen to the music."

I cracked here. But seriously - what the actual fuck?! One might think being quite is the last thing you do. Just imagine how it feels to the people on stage. A silent crowd of hungry eyes, staring, waiting for your pants to split or something like that.

    5. I do believe that the main reason why Mr. Sakurai's pants split at the infamous show back on the Parade 2007 tour is that the collective mania of the fangirls was desperately willing it to happen. This is the power of the collective unconscious, my friends. Don't fuck with the collective unconscious.

  6. All I can say is a big thank you for explaining that and to say maybe a small cattle prod is in order at these shows (could be the stick part on a maquerade mask)??!! Yes the MUSIC is what the fuck it's about, girls (and some boys, I guess)!!

Keep up the good work, Cayce and thanks for all you go through to bring the MUSIC to us fans overseas.

  7. On a separate but related note, to the Hisashi Inquirer: today, we have seen mr cloudchair posting photos of two hands with black painted fingernails (on the ubiquitous facename site no less) - will this prompt a new wave of idle useless chat from fangirls who can't dance? Should we hide, run away or should we take cayce's concert advice to heart? (note: the specific paragraph that reminds us that at least we are taller than them, in all likelihood) yours, delana who likes to dance a bit, now and then

How have you been heart feeling?
